How can we help?
We read every message and reply by email.

In the app, Settings → Contact us sends the same email and can include your app version and device model, which helps us fix bugs faster.
Common questions
How accurate is a photo estimate?
It’s an estimate, like eyeballing a portion, only faster. Every entry lists the ingredients and amounts it counted, so you can spot what’s off and fix it in a sentence or edit any number.
Can AI count calories from a photo?
Yes, as an estimate. Take one photo and CalSimple names each food and its amount, then works out the calories, protein, carbs and fat. You see every ingredient it counted, so if a portion looks wrong you can fix it in a sentence, like “half the rice”.
Can I scan a barcode or a nutrition label?
Yes. Packaged food is quickest by barcode, or snap the nutrition label. No photo? Describe what you ate, like “two slices of pepperoni pizza”.
What can I do without a subscription?
You get a few free scans every day, and they come back the next day. Manual entry, weight logging and your progress charts are free and unlimited. To scan every meal, get CalSimple Premium.
How does the free trial work?
The yearly plan starts with 3 days free. We remind you on day 2, and you’re only charged on day 3 if you haven’t cancelled. Cancel in your iPhone’s Settings under Subscriptions. Monthly and Lifetime start right away, without a trial.
Can I pay once instead?
Yes. Lifetime is a single payment that unlocks Premium for good, with no subscription to renew or cancel. It’s tied to your Apple ID, so Restore purchases brings it back on a new iPhone.
Which iPhone do I need?
Any iPhone running iOS 17 or later.
What happens to my meal photos?
They’re stored privately with your account so you can look back at past meals. Delete your account in Settings and every photo and entry is removed.
Is CalSimple medical advice?
No. CalSimple is a tracking tool. Talk to a doctor or dietitian before making big changes to how you eat.
Subscription
- Restore purchases: in CalSimple, open Settings and tap Restore purchases (under Subscription). Use the same Apple ID you bought with.
- Cancel: on your iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → CalSimple → Cancel Subscription, or in CalSimple open Settings → Manage subscription → Manage in App Store. Deleting the app or your account doesn’t cancel it.
- Lifetime: a one-time purchase, so there’s nothing to cancel. If you still have a yearly or monthly subscription, cancel it as above so it doesn’t renew. On a new phone, Restore purchases brings Lifetime back.
- Refunds: Apple handles payments and refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your account and data
- Delete your account: see how to delete your account.
- Get a copy of your data: email support@calsimple.app and we’ll send it as a JSON file: profile, goals, meals, weights, water, workouts, saved foods and subscription status. Ask if you also want your meal and progress photos.
- Can’t find your log after signing in? Apple and Google sign-ins create separate accounts. Sign in with the same method you used the first time.
An estimate looks wrong
Open the entry and tap Fix results to describe what was different (“no croutons, half the dressing”), or edit any number directly. If an estimate is far off, email us the meal name and time so we can look into it.
